About this event
Evening talk: Ancient tragedy, modern communities 5pm-6pm, PSC-SCR
How does Greek tragedy respond to and reflect the concerns of modern communities? Drawing on his experiences staging and reimagining Greek literature in theatres, online and within community settings, Paul O’Mahony’s talk will explore the issues and opportunities these ancient texts present. He will reflect on his recent project adapting The Suppliants and the ways in which Classical plays help us interrogate the issues of today.
