The New Mexican announced its 10 Who Made a Difference honorees for 2025—each volunteer has been recognized for making a strong impact on the community as part of the paper's 40th anniversary celebrations.
Phyllis and Judge Johnson, who run nonprofit Rise Up Santa Fe, gifted essential furnishings to people who have recently moved into new homes—helping them start fresh lives.
After Thanksgiving, the Northern New Mexico Toy Drive will help 10,000 kids with gifts led by Santa Fe firefighter Rollin’ Tylerr Jones and his family who started the drive in 2010 and made it official in 2021.
The drive supports families from the Four Corners to Albuquerque — volunteers sort toys and check wish lists to meet the needs of kids across New Mexico.
Volunteers will host an annual Thanksgiving meal at Santa Fe Suites — an affordable housing complex on St. Francis Drive — to serve residents, and the event continues to grow in popularity.
