The historic Red Room at the Bataan Memorial Building will be rehabilitated to restore its original features; the room housed the Territorial Legislature from 1900 to 1912 and served as Senate chambers until 1966.

The project will preserve an important piece of Santa Fe’s past—official details on the restoration timeline and funding are expected soon.

New Mexico officials introduced a plan to improve education for disadvantaged students, but advocates said it lacks clear cost estimates, community input and defined steps for accountability—critics worry these gaps may slow progress.

Local leaders must address these concerns as the plan moves forward.

Repairs on the eroded Arroyo de los Chamisos Urban Trail will start in January—work to stabilize the arroyo will continue until late spring.
