🎓 Education
New Mexico Highlands University was classified as a research college by the American Council on Education—its first such designation, affirming its research success in solving local issues.
The university will soon launch three new doctoral programs, including a Doctor of Nursing Practice.
🏥 Health
New Mexico lawmakers added $17 million to the Healthcare Affordability Fund to help keep premiums low when federal subsidies end later this year.
The state is offering extra subsidies during open enrollment until January 15 to support more than 76,000 New Mexicans—though lawmakers say long-term relief will need Congress' help.
