The U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Mexico charged a Santa Fe woman, the daughter of a retired state district judge, with drug distribution death for allegedly providing a woman with a fatal dose of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Santa Fe man Paul Gallegos, 38, was shot by an officer Friday at his home after state police said he aimed his gun at officers—Gallegos denies the allegation and faces several charges.

The U.S. Forest Service has lifted evacuations near Gallina as the Laguna Fire is now 75% contained—ignited by lightning about a month ago—and burned over 17,000 acres in the Santa Fe National Forest.

Residents of Gallina Ranch may return home while the fire remains on 'Ready' status.

The city unveiled today plans for the second phase of SWAN Park that include a splash pad, trailhead and sports fields.
