- ➤ The Laguna Fire has burned 17,020 acres and remains 55% contained in the Santa Fe National Forest as 262 firefighters use aerial support, engines, helicopters, water tenders, dozers and ambulances to control it, while favorable weather aids progress and crews maintain evacuation orders at Gallina Ranch — the Monastery of Christ in the Desert is in Set status. - ➤ The City of Santa Fe recovered more than $300,000 stolen from its online vendor portal in May when hackers diverted a payment for an airport paving job—local and federal authorities, along with Wells Fargo’s fraud team, returned the funds and city leaders have strengthened security protocols. - ➤ New Mexico led the nation with a 20.5% rise in high-speed internet access when comparing the last six months of 2023 to the last six months of 2024. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ New Mexico health officials reported a 31% drop in primary and secondary syphilis rates from 36.5 to 25.3 cases per 100,000 people in 2024 & a 19.6% decline in congenital syphilis cases compared to 2023.
