  • The New Mexico State Fair is hosting a first-of-its-kind music festival that will exclusively feature local artists+ the event will showcase diverse musical styles to highlight regional talent.  KOB 4
  • The International Folk Art Market (attracting 20,000 visitors) broke its record with over $3.8 million in sales as 150 artists and cooperatives (from 57 countries) showcased folk art.  Santa Fe New Mexican

  • Santa Fe County commissioners approved action — again — against an Agua Fría village property deemed a nuisance, as officials work to curb recurring issues in the area.  Santa Fe New Mexican
  • The city settled for $300K with the estate of Dorothy Stevens—who was thrown from a treadmill at Mary Esther Gonzales Senior Center in January 2024 and later died—bringing the case to a close.  Santa Fe New Mexican
  • Senator Martin Heinrich introduced the Protect DREAMer Confidentiality Act today to stop federal agencies from sharing DACA application data—except when it is needed for fraud, national security, or a felony unrelated to immigration. The bill aims to protect nearly 5,690 DACA recipients in New Mexico by keeping their personal information safe and preventing its use against them.  Santa Fe Reporter
  • Santa Fe County announced temporary lane closures on N.M. 14 near Lone Butte for water station work. The county said traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by temporary traffic signals — allowing alternating one-way flow.  Santa Fe New Mexican

HEALTH NEWS

  • Christus St. Vincent Health celebrated its $80 million Cancer Center expansion on Thursday with a grand opening at the new 80,000-square-foot facility that now offers specialized treatments, six medical oncologists, and integrative services (including acupuncture and advanced care planning). Health leaders attended the event to mark a new chapter in delivering high-quality cancer care to northern New Mexicans.  Santa Fe Reporter
