NMDOT warned residents today that scammers sent fake texts and calls about unpaid traffic tickets—messages that first appeared on July 11 and asked for payment details.

The agency says if you get such messages, do not give out any payment information.

Since New Mexico’s automatic voter registration began in July, 8,487 citizens registered or updated their records at motor vehicle offices.

The system registers voters during driver license renewal and updates personal changes—ensuring only eligible individuals are processed.
