  • A local grocery store workers’ union signed a tentative deal with Smith’s Food and Drug—members will review the contract next week before voting while union negotiators work with Albertsons to avoid a strike. Albertsons will meet with union representatives Thursday and Friday as workers remain set to strike Saturday if no new deal is reached.  KOB 4

  • Santa Fe police responded to reports of shots fired on Otowi Road today and asked residents to shelter in place while officers located an individual armed with a firearm — Deputy Chief Ben Valdez wrote in an email.  Santa Fe New Mexican

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The New Mexico Environment Department sued the Air Force over PFAS contamination — the department said a new law classifying PFAS as hazardous waste could strengthen its case.  Santa Fe New Mexican

  • A mysterious poll shows most Santa Fe voters remain undecided on the mayoral race and are unhappy with current leadership. Councilor Michael Garcia leads with 15% support while other candidates lag — the poll was conducted by unknown pollsters.  Santa Fe New Mexican
  • New Mexico lawmakers sharply criticized CYFD for its failures that contributed to child deaths and improper spending, urging the agency to take responsibility. CYFD acknowledged the issues and said it will launch initiatives to improve maltreatment prevention and worker retention — aiming to better protect children.  Santa Fe New Mexican
  • County Commissioner Greene announced his bid for Santa Fe mayor + a third candidate joined the District 1 council race.  Santa Fe New Mexican
  • Santa Fe County will negotiate to purchase a property near Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center — two miles from the state district courthouse downtown — to move the District Attorney's Office.  Santa Fe New Mexican
