Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 28th of March.
Good morning, Santa Fe.
Thousands of families who depend on food banks in New Mexico may soon get less food because the USDA canceled $500 million in funding—cuts that will begin next month and continue until June.
Roadrunner Food Bank, which relies on 30% of its donations from the USDA, is using backup funding while Senator Ben Ray Luján works to secure additional support for food programs.
Santa Fe is asking residents for feedback and volunteers to help update its general plan — the first review in 25 years that will set policy on housing, sustainability and public services.
The new review will shape the city’s future policy and planning.
The city department urged residents asking for repairs to vote for the road bond.
A city spokesperson said the communication could have been handled better—no clear ethical rules were broken.
