Mixed Media Explorations: Watercolor, Collage & the Art of Composition

About this event

Spend a creative day exploring watercolor, collage, and mixed media with Santa Fe artist and instructor Andrea Cermanski. In this playful, hands-on workshop, we’ll experiment with watercolor, beautiful papers, stamps, pens, and mark-making while learning about color, layering, and composition.

We’ll start loose and playful, creating large watercolor paintings and then cutting them apart to transform them with collage and other mixed-media elements. From there, we’ll explore cropping and composition before bringing everything we’ve discovered into a larger 16 × 20 mixed-media painting.

You’ll leave with five original greeting cards, a matted 8 × 10 artwork, and a 16 × 20 mixed-media painting—plus plenty of new ideas to continue exploring on your own.

Total beginners are welcome. No painting or collage experience is necessary, and all materials are provided.
