Wine Dinner: The Loire Valley w/ Jon-David Headrick Selections

About this event

It’s not often that the principals of our favorite import companies make their way to New Mexico; so, when we heard Jon-David Headrick, of his eponymous company, was coming to Santa Fe we were thrilled to be able to collaborate on a wine dinner with him! There is so much passion for the Loire Valley and the producers – now friends – in his portfolio running through Jon-David’s veins that it is palpable. Come share in his joy, savor the delicious menu we’ve paired to the selected wines, and learn about this storied wine region. Click here to check out the menu and line-up.

Jon-David founded his company in 2005 and quickly became known as one of the preeminent names in the wine community; to include being named “Best New Specialist Wine Importer” by Wine & Spirits magazine. He is driven by a quest for purity in wine – a quality he has come to define as such: “Purity comes from hardship. It comes from the struggle of the vine’s roots through the rocks it is planted on, it comes from the fight against every other plant vying for the same water and nutrients, and it comes from the plant learning to fight for itself and not having man fight its battles for it.” When Jon-David discovered that the chalk-soiled Loire Valley he met his match: “This “chalk line” produces wines of extraordinary purity, minerality, and soul and represents the heart of my portfolio. The properties with which I work are consumed with making true wines – wines that are true to where they come from, true to the earth, and true to the winemaker’s obsession with quality.”
