About this event

YOUR OLD CLOTHES. YOUR RULES. YOUR NEW FAVORITE HAT.

Ever wanted to cut up your favorite garment and turn it into something completely different? (Don't tell your mom. 👀)

WELCOME TO THE FASHION LAB!

We're kicking off our very first workshop with Apache designer and upcycling artist Alex Vigil, who's here to show you how to take something old and turn it into something completely YOU.

In this hands-on workshop, we'll be cutting, sewing, remixing, and customizing denim bucket hats using upcycled materials. Think bold patches, unexpected fabrics, wild combinations, and absolutely NO RULES when it comes to your creativity.

Never touched a sewing machine? NO PROBLEM. That's why we're here!

WHEN: Sunday, November 8 | 1–3 PM

WHO: Indigenous Youth, Ages 15–25

SPOTS: ONLY 10 AVAILABLE!

INSTRUCTOR: Alex Vigil | Apache Designer + Upcycler

WHERE: Indigenous Fashion 4EVER Futures Lab at the 4KINSHIP MOTHERSHIP, Santa Fe Art Institute

WHAT TO BRING: Your imagination! Got fabric scraps or something you've been dying to cut up? Bring it along (maybe ask Mom first 😜).

SNACKS PROVIDED! Because Auntie knows creativity makes you hungry. ❤️

ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME!

We're building a space where Indigenous youth can experiment, make mistakes, learn new skills, and discover what happens when you stop following the rules and START MAKING STUFF.

KIDS NEED TO MAKE STUFF.

THE FUTURE IS IN OUR HANDS. ❤️
